Licensing & custom work

Everything you always wanted to know about design licensing (but were afraid to ask)!

The license agreement authorizes you to use a design or collection for your business. You obtain the right to use the design under the conditions to be defined in the contract; The agreement specifies the terms of use, duration, price, and included services. For commissioned work, the usage rights will be mutually agreed upon and specified in a license agreement. Detailed operation:

  • With the purchase of a license, you will receive a ready-to-use file containing the design and a brief description of the design and its narrative context. You will be free to use it or not.
  • It’s not mandatory, but I appreciate having my work credited

There are three types of licenses:

  • Non-exclusive license: You can use the pattern within the limits set, without exclusivity.
  • Semi-exclusive license: You hold exclusive rights to the design for a specific market, product category or limited time defined in the contract.
  • Exclusive license: You are the sole holder of the right to use the design for the entire duration of the license and within the defined scope (sector, territory, medium).
  • In all cases I retain the copyright.
  • The first step is to review your brief, to ensure that we start the project with a clear and shared understanding + preparation of the quote.
  • Payment of a deposit confirming your commitment and allowing the creative process to begin.
  • Preliminary sketches + reasonable revisions (colors, minor details, proportions, etc.)
  • Final approval. Any confirmation sent by email is considered final. Any significant or additional changes (outside the timeline) may incur additional charges.
  • Invoicing + payment of the balance
  • Delivery: The files are delivered via a download link.
  • You retain control at each stage of the creative process. You may choose to discontinue the project at any time. However, the initial deposit remains non‑refundable.
  • The sketches, ideas, and proposals remain my property until the service is fully paid for. They cannot be used or given to another service provider if the project is abandoned.

* Please do not send AI simulations!

To facilitate communication in light of potential time zone differences, email is the preferred method of exchange. Emails sent and received constitute valid written proof. The Parties agree that a reasonable response time is acceptable, taking into account each party’s availability and constraints. The language of communication will be English or French.

  • My files are usually available in raster format 300 dpi .psd, .jpg, .tiff, 4724 px.
  • color-separated organized layers
  • If you have any special requirements (600dpi, …), please let me know before placing your order.
  • Please note that I do not offer vectorization services, as my focus is to create artworks, with vibe and textures. However, a high definition of 600 dpi (on request) could be suitable for large format projects.
  • All information shared between the Parties is strictly confidential and may not be disclosed to any third party.
  • For new clients: before sending a portfolio of selected designs, you may be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
  • I only send the final files after receiving full payment.
  • You can ask to consult the full general terms and conditions of sale.

Price & Payment

  • The price depends on the terms defined in the license agreement.
  • A design from a collection will be more expensive if purchased individually, but the license granted for multiple designs of a collection will offer a sliding scale of prices. Feel free to ask.
  • Billing may vary from project to project.
  • Files are provided for download after payment.

Each contract will include a description of the project and expected deliverables, and will specify the schedule and deadlines, terms of use and copyright, payment terms, revision fees, cancellation fees, credits, and other details. No work will be accepted without a signed contract.

“I will gladly answer all your questions. Don’t hesitate to ask me for more details if needed.”
